A Midsummer Night’s Dream – San Diego Civic Theatre

California Ballet’s full length A Midsummer Night’s Dream will return to the Civic Theatre stage for one weekend only April 11 & 12. This delightful ballet takes place in a castle and an enchanted forest full of fairies, elves, bugs, and dancing caterpillars. The handsome Fairy King Oberon and his sprite sidekick Puck spend a midsummer nights playing magical pranks and practical jokes on two pairs of star-crossed lovers, a young man who turns into a half-donkey, and the too-serious Queen of the Fairies Titania. While all in good fun, everyone swiftly learns that love makes fools of us all.

Children and adults are invited to bring their wings and participate in a Fairy Frenzy prior to the performance. Fairy themed cocktails and cocktails will be available in concessions, photo opportunities will take place in the theatre lobby. A costume contest will take place on the red carpet prior to the performances. The winner will receive two DSC 5837premium Gold Rope tickets to The Nutcracker in December 2015, and will be announced on Facebook following the run.
