Kirsten Bloom Allen – Guest Artist


California Ballet welcomes Kirsten Bloom Allen, dancing the role of Daisy in The Great Gatsby.  Kirsten was a principal dancer with The Sacramento Ballet for over 15 years.  She also danced with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, performing multiple Balanchine programs at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, as well as touring extensively with Suzanne’s company.  While dancing with The Sacramento Ballet, Kirsten danced a private showing of the great classic ballet Giselle for George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush,  and she toured China as a principal dancer in joint productions with The Shanghai Ballet.  Kirsten has danced the leading role in Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and Romeo & Juliet, and the lead in over 30 Balanchine ballets.  She has performed many contemporary works by her favorite choreographers, Septime Webre and Ron Cunningham. Kirsten and her long time dance partner, Jared Nelson, have recently created The Artist Society, a charitable performing arts group. Her most inspiring teacher is Carinne Binda Cunningham.  Kirsten’s greatest love is for her husband, Luke, and two young sons, Ben & Nate.
