Stephano Candreva - Guest Artist
California Ballet welcomes Stéphano Candreva as a Guest Artist this season. Stephano received his early training in Brazil at the Studio de Danca Com-Passos before graduating from Escola de Danca Alice Arja in Rio de Janeiro. He also attended summer programs at Miami City Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet and began his professional career with Milwaukee Ballet II.
Mr. Candreva has performed principal roles in Romeo & Juliet, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Giselle, The Firebird, La Fille Mal Gardee, Le Corsaire and The Nutcracker, as well as Allegro Brilliante, Donizetti Variations, Serenade, Square Dance, Jewels, the Four Temperaments, Who Cares? and Tarentella, all choreographed by George Balanchine.
His repertoire includes ballets choreographed by Betsy Wistrich, Alicia Alonso, Asaf Meserer, Michael Pink, Madia Thompson, Victor Ramirez, Carlos dos Santos, Cristina Helema and Salvatore Aiello.
Stephano was previously a soloist with Sesiminas Cia de Danca, Brazil and a Principal Dancer with City Ballet of San Diego. As a Guest Artist, Mr. Candreva has performed with Cisne Negro Cia de Danca in Brazil, Twin Cities Ballet, Arizona Classical Ballet, and Ballet Chicago, among others.
He represented his native Brazil at the 2012 Seminario Internacional de Danca de Brasilia, where he was a silver medalist.
Mr. Candreva is presently a Danseur with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet.
