Allyson Barkdull received her training from New West Ballet School and San Elijo Dance Academy, with additional training from Sonia Arova, Thor Sutkowski, Lawrence and Sarma Rosenberg, Nancy Robinson and Rory Foster. She attended summer workshops at Alonzo King’s Lines Professional Program, Atlanta Ballet, and Boston Ballet. Allyson studied dance at Palomar College from 2001 – 2005, and participated in the graduate program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre the following year. She joined Anaheim Ballet in 2008, where she danced featured roles. In 2012 Allyson joined American Contemporary Ballet where she danced in ballets such as Le Tombeau de Couperin, and L’Apotheose de Corelli. She has received numerous awards, including the Los Angeles Music Center Award for Excellence. Ms. Barkdull joined the California Ballet in 2013 and was promoted to Soloist in 2015. She has been featured as a Bride in Dracula, Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Jordan in The Great Gatsby.
