Cassandra Lund received her training at the New West Ballet School, under the direction of CBC alumna Eugenia Keefer. She received additional training as a scholarship recipient with the Joffrey Ballet School training program and also with Tremaine Dance Conventions. She joined California Ballet Company in 2001, became a soloist in 2002, and was named Principal Dancer in 2003. After her breathtaking performance in Giselle in 2007, she was honored with the title of Ballerina. She has performed in a variety of ballets with the company such as Tarantella, Rolls, In Memory Of … United We Stand, Out in the Sunlight, Intensity, and The Nutcracker. Ms. Lund’s featured roles include Giselle, Cinderella, Paquita, Suite Vivaldi, Giuliani Variations, a Fairy in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Mazurka variation in Les Sylphides, Alice in Alice in Wonderland, and as Dewdrop, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Most recently, Ms. Lund performed the role of Lucy in Charles Bennet’s Dracula. In addition to dancing with California Ballet, Ms. Lund is a guest artist with New West Ballet and has performed with the Mojalet Dance Collective and Palomar College Dance Ensemble. She is a dance instructor with New West Ballet School, Carlsbad High School and Orange Glen High School. She is also head instructor and a member of the Program Development team for the United Spirit Association. Ms. Lund is married and the mother of two young children.
